FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - The Nanooks hockey team played the Long Island, and they packed and broke out the brooms.

In game one, the Nanooks hunted down the sharks with a seven to three win. Eight players would have two or more points, with 12 players grabbing a point in the game.

Harrison Israels snagged a hat trick, Brady Risk would increase his points leads for the Nooks with two assists, and Pierce Charleson would have a decent game with 29 saves and earning a .901 Save percentage.

In game two, they would take home the win three to one, clinching the sweep, with Brady Risk scoring first and tallying another point on Israels goal for two points on the night.

Chase Dubois would snag the game winner, scoring the second of the game and his fifth on the season. Israels scored the third and final goal, it would be his fifth multi-goal game of the year, scoring on back to back nights after going goal less since the first game against Augustana, December 15.

The stat totals for the weekend are 10 goals, 20 assists, and 14 players would earn a point on the weekend.

UAF’s hockey team will stay on the road, but will be in Alaska for next weekend as they travel to take on that team down south for the final game of the Governor’s Cup.
