Published Feb 14, 2024 by Gavin Struve For the second-to-last time this season, the University of Alaska Fairbanks will play host to four college basketball games in a three-day span. The Nanook men’s and women’s teams each have six regular season games remaining and an uphill climb to reach the six-team Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC) Tournament in three weeks. Both play at home on Thursday and Saturday this week.
And while programs sometimes send their men’s and women’s teams up north together, this week will see four different teams rotate through the Patty Center to face the Nanooks days before or after facing UAA. The Nanooks’ Saturday opponents will each play at UAA on Thursday and vice versa for UAF’s Thursday foes. Here’s a primer on each opponent and matchup for UAF this week.
