Samsung cutting NAND flash production amid Xi’an lockdown

As a result the company is having to “adjust” manufacturing output, the market research firm said. This could in turn have an impact on the price of NAND flash memory which had previously been declining.

TrendForce said that most suppliers have now stopped giving price quotes for NAND Flash products after Samsung released an official statement on the Xi’an matter.

Samsung operates two memory fabs in Xi’an, both of which make 3D NAND flash components. The two fave account for 42.5 percent of Samsung’s total NAND flash production capacity and about 15 percent of the global output.

It is reported that the Chinese authorities have closed down the city transportation system to encourage people to stay at home.
